Intro
As a former military wife, I'm well traveled without ever having been well heeled. I'm an environmental studies major who literally walks the walk of living lighter on this Earth by living without a car and I have education and experience pertinent to planning and development.
At one time, I was a low-level moderator on Cyburbia. I'm painfully aware that most professional planners have the patter down about pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods and Transit Oriented Design (TOD), but they typically live car-centric lives with long commutes to a job where they're paid to plan a community they don't actually live in.
Bonus points: I've witnessed them openly mock people who were members of the forum living without a car.
Most trip planning sites don't do what I need done. Sites like Rome2Rio promise to usher in a new era of ease of getting around with the magic of your pocket puter, but in practice their stated goals for their site are frequently undermined by the need for money such that they don't really serve the end user adequately.
I'm a one woman shop. I don't need much money. I do need some.
I would like to be part of creating a better future for this world. I need income, but I'm not willing to be part of the enshittification of the Internet as a means to survive.
